What´s new
Marc Saric 15:19, 22 April 2006 (CEST) Removed most glitches from the Wiki, uploaded almost all files. Still some rough edges, but it's getting better.
(Wed, 19 Apr 2006) New MediaWiki-layout breaks in Safari, needs some fixing... Hmpf.
(Mon, 17 Apr 2006) Moved the whole page to a MediaWiki based installation. Static HTML no more.
About this site
This is the personal homepage of Marc Saric.
It went online around 1997, after the University of Bochum supplied a server for student-homepages (there has been an older parallel version of this page hosted by a free homepage-provider, which dates from the end of 1996, written entirely in german -which means I am online for almost 10 years now :-) ). The old static source has been replaced by a more interactive and easy to use MediaWiki using a customized Monobook-skin, partly based on FratMan II. The menu-system is still based on Cascading Popup Menu v. 5.1 by Angus Turnbull.
Between December 2002 and January 2006 the page has been hosted by http://www.1und1.com, since January 2006 it resides on a virtual server at http://www.netfabrik.de on http://www.marcsaric.de.
If your browser does not support Javascript, please use the sitemap for navigation (sorry for the inconvenience, but -hey- it's the 21st century, nobody really uses lynx anymore).
I have tested the menu-system with Internet Explorer 5, Netscape 4.05, Netscape 4.7, Mozilla 5.9, Opera 6.0, and Konqueror 2.2.1 and it worked with all browsers except Netscape 4.05 and Konqueror. Please tell me if you find any errors I might have missed.
If the new layout looks crappy to you -just use a newer or more CSS-compliant browsers (they are free).
My homepage includes an infrequently updated review of (almost) free molecular modelling programs and some stuff related to my studies, Ph.D. and Postdoc as well as a review of useful programs for the Palm Pilot, some info about Eclipse- and Emacs(not updated any more) -extensions and some Python- Apple and Linux-blurb.
Some time ago I added a blog dealing with stuff related to my Molecular-modelling review.
This homepage is not related to the above mentioned university etc. It's just my personal piece of the WWW.
